I am obscenely amused with the fact that I just happened to grab the one pair of shoes I own that have elastic straps and my new Elastic Bandage cage legging from minxshop. The effect is so serendipitous, I am shocked.

I got a new nose ring from Rock Your Nose on etsy. I was looking for something with a little extra umph to it. I just happened to stumble upon this seller two weeks ago and I love her stuff. I will be purchasing a great deal more from her.

Walking on a Dream

So, I've been gone. I haven't felt that my outfits were all that extra special and therefore, felt no motivation as far as the photography bit. Sometimes, you just need to recalibrate. I believe that with everything. I believe that with my job, teaching Zumba, and fashion. So, I just took it easy for a while and now I'm feeling fabulous. This outfit materialized in my head on a whim yesterday and I decided to just wear it without even laying it out, first. I do this sometimes, but they are typically safer outfits. I am so happy with this, though. It's campy and outlandish and it makes me feel a little like an eccentric old lady. Furthermore, picture taking went like a dream, which was great since my puppy was with me and I could tell he was getting restless.
So, sometimes recalibrating does work and it's not just a justification residing in my head.

Ok, so you all got the rant from my last post and now I'm going to give you a teeny glimpse into what I'm doing about it. What I feel I lack in my wardrobe currently are those surprising "that makes your entire outfit" pieces. I have them, but those I have bore me. Here are a couple of pieces I've found (mostly on asos)that will hopefully keep me inspired as I enter my favorite season.

I'm into weird headpieces right now. I really want an indian headdress, but they are crazy expensive everywhere I've looked. In lieu of that, I've found plenty of animal-like silouettes to give my outfits a little surprise factor.

You just saw this in the previous post, but I think that it will pop up often during the cooler months of autumn. There is a bit of flair to it and I like the fact that no one can ignore me with this accessory atop my head.

A feather cape is just what the doctor ordered here. Melodrama (there's an overabundance of that in this post) and at a steal. How could a fashion concious girl resist?

Another sale find from asos, that is from the summer season. Too damn bad! The lace and the cat ears begs for the melodrama of fall, in my mind.

I'm pretty sure this bag, like some of my other items, was from the summer collection. However, something about the muted colors and the airy texture of the feathers has me visualizing it with chunky, oversized sweaters and short sequin skirts for fall.

This is one of my favorite finds. I actually looked on ebay for something similar and cheaper, but to no avail. They were all more expensive. This is en route to my house even as we speak and I think it is going to get overused this autumn.

Now, you tell me. Where are you looking for inspiration this fall? I'm dying to know. I need websites, magazines, whatever is hitting your fashion hotspot, right now.

Ok, summer and its clothing has officially become stale. I thought this outfit might make me feel better, but I ended up hating it almost instantly. I think it has less to do with the actual outfit as it does my deep-seated resentment for sweating in everything I wear right now. Does anyone have autumn temperatures currently? If so, I'm moving there.
By the way, just a little heads up: I'm heading (back) to San Fransisco in October and want very badly to spend a lot of money there. That on top of finding little of inspiration in any of the 8000 places that I shop online and otherwise means that I will be looking to get creative with what I've got. I do plan on garage saling a little again this fall (I think that's when you get the best stuff) to add a little creative flair back into my wardrobe, but I won't be making major purchases for a few months.
Also, thank you to my followers. I have now exceeded 90, which is completely astonishing to me. Sorry for being such a bum blogger lately.

I really love this outfit! I like the flowy, yumminess of it, especially in summer. So, I bought this dress from asos as a recommendation from Patrice, but it's perhaps a bit too large. Belts seem to add a nice shape, however, which makes me happy.
By the way, I discovered a new yummy food/drink combination: Cupcake Chardonnay and Goldfish are delish together. I couldn't stop eating them.

I'm currently obsessed with the book I'm reading. If you want sexual intrigue, historical fiction, and misguided romanticism, then read The Bolter. It's the story of Idina Sackville, the temptress/lovelorn British goddess who inspired the Happy Valley Set (ever-so-scandalous) of Kenya. It's the best nonfiction read, I've ever read. Read it!

What makes good (if not entirely natural) hair?

I've spent part of my summer working quite vigorously at rehabilitating my hair. My stylist taught me that healthy hair needs three things: protein, moisture, and oil. I have employed all of these components in my trial of a magnitude of products. I went on a spending spree and decided to simply try any and every product with which I came into contact. Here is my (unsolicited) review of each of those products.

Here are the products in the first picture:
I used the Aveda Hang Straight before I started bleaching my hair and I loved it. It smoothed out my fly-aways, made my hair look super sleek with a straightener, and smelled like only Aveda products can (they use marshmallow root in this product. However, this product made my already dry hair feel kind of gooey. So, in short, great for natural or color treated hair, but not so much for bleach.
The other product on the left of the Aveda is a HAIRepair Polisher with Aloe Vera made by Organic Root Stimulator. I purchased this product at Target. This product was not my favorite. It left my hair feeling oily at the ends (where I need the most repair).
The product on the left of Aveda is Kenra Silkening Gloss. This stuff smells amazing, but I had the same problem with it as I did with the HAIRepair. It's synthetic, so the sheen and oiliness was a bit much.
The products in the second photo are some of my favorites. The Redken product on the far left is an Extreme Cat Protein Reconstructing treatment for distressed hair. I spray into my hair in the shower and leave it in for no more than fifteen minutes and wash it out completely. Then, I use the Redken Extreme Rescue Force as a deep conditioner, put a shower cap on, and walk around looking like an old lady for 45 minutes, if I have that much time. I do that twice a week. On the days that I'm not using the Redken, I use the Olive & Avocado Deep Conditioning Masque by EarthScience. Again, I put it on and comb through my hair with a wide-tooth comb, then put a shower cap on and let it "stew" for as long as I can stand it. The last product on the far right is Giovanni Leave-in Hair Treatment. Essentially, it's a leave-in conditioner that I spray in my hair after towel drying, but before it is completely dry. I substituted it once for a regular conditioner when I forgot it at home, and that's the only time I didn't like this product. It makes my hair feel very smooth and moisturized.
The fourth photo are products from the same brand. Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayonnaise instructs the user to use in hair that has been shampooed. I did not like it for that. My hair felt really goopy and I was not fond of it at all. However, I am going to try it before showering my hair.
The other product is the Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil. I had the same problem with the instructions for this product. It says to use it after you've dried your hair and massage it through the roots and ends. It was pasty and I felt a strong desire to wash my hair the entire time I had it in my hair. Also, it has a pretty strong Olive oil odor that was not tremendously pleasing. I do, however, use it to saturate my hair before going swimming and then shampoo it out. This makes my hair really silky, so I found a positive use for the product after all.
The final picture is my rave review for this post. Moroccan Oil is evidentally world-renowned, and a well-known secret of the rich and famous. It is an exceptional product, and it should be, considering that it costs a pretty penny. The Moroccan Oil smells warm, like amber, and since it's natural, any excess oil that your hair doesn't need evaporates if you put it in your hair while it's damp. If you don't, it doesn't work the same. I hear that this is called Moroccan oil because it's an tried and try practice to use this oil in dry, desert ravaged hair in Africa. I don't know if it's true, but it's a great story. Anyway, I tried the regular Moroccan Oil first (the one on the left). The only problem I ran into is that it's natural amber color actually tinted my platinum hair and made it a more yellowy blonde. I had to wait a few months for the Moroccan Oil Light to come out, but this was their answer to all those platinum blondes who loved the product but didn't like how it tinted their white tresses. The product is only slightly different from the Traditional Moroccan Oil. It's a little thinner, more water-like, and the color is lighter. It is essential that you use the Moroccan Oil Light on damp hair, because it does not evaporate as well as the traditional Moroccan Oil.
This entire review comes down to just a few products:
Both of the Redken products are phenomenal at rebuilding hair, the EarthScience deep conditioning masque makes my hair feel moist and refreshed, the Giovani Leave-in Hair Treatment along with the Moroccan Oil round out my magnum opus of hair care everyday.
Honestly, the regiment isn't that long. It just sounds long.

I finally got the Jessica Simpson shoes that I've been vying for for months. I wore them on Sunday but never got to taking photos of the outfit. Also, I just bought three different colors of liquid eyeliner (teal, emerald green, and wine). The last photo is what I did with the teal. However, it wasn't nearly as dramatic and sexy as I wanted. Any advice on interesting ways to apply colored eyeliner?

My sister and I went to Boulder this past Thursday. My feet were bothering me from an overload of Zumba, so we sat down to enjoy the people watching. These performers started playing and I got some really great photos for my house. Then, the two homeless guys came up and I was sure there was going to be a conflict. On the contrary, the (presumably high) young men just wanted to dance beligerantly. As you can tell from the video, Megan and I could hardly control ourselves.

There was also a very eccentric, unshowered man who decided he needed some attention from the adoring audience. He did a somersault on the street.

So, I have been facing a crisis. I can not find clothes that are cool and flowy and all together effortless in larger sizes. While I love me some Faith 21 (my most recent clothing savior), I hate how tight, constricting, and short all of the items are. That's ok sometimes, but most of the summer I want to wear some gauzy, paperthin nothing that still covers my bum, damn it. I've perused Karmaloop, Urban Outfitters, even RVCA in search of said dress, but they always turn up nothing in my size. This is one of my few reprieves from this sticky situation. I was bumming around Express's website when I found this for nine dollars in the sale category. I bought it thinking that it would probably be tight as well, but it's even better than I thought. It's like a tent in there. I am overcome with boundless joy!
And if any of you would like to suggest some places that you have found dresses like this, I would be eternally grateful.

This is the closest you'll ever see me get to Fourth of July attire. It really had nothing to do with Independence Day; it started with the shoes and developed a life unto it's own.
Summer always reminds me of Jimmy Buffet (I'm a parakeet head which is a self-appointed position that I assigned due to my parents being Parrotheads). Since Independence Day is the epitomy of American summer experience (or at least it is for me), I grabbed a bottle of Riesling and crammed as many Jimmy Buffet CD's as I could into my CD player.

This is the outfit that I was planning to wear to dinner and a movie with some friends. However, I think I'm going to change into something a bit more comfortable.
I spent the week in Keystone, Colorado at an International Baccaleureate (I probably spelled that wrong) conference. I'm still recovering and feeling super antisocial since I stayed in a house with 16 of my colleagues. I'm too much of a homebody for that much socialization.
That's probably the reason I want to feel as comfortable as possible.

I have been disgustingly absent from the blog lately. There is no excuse but I'll offer a brief explanation. I was grappling with the end of the school year-- essentially, I was in survival mode. Then, once school was finished, I became quite taken with the idea of not having to do anything at any given time. I've been taking three hour bike rides, eating healthy, going to farmer's markets, taking care of my hair, and sleeping in every day. There is no excuse for my absence other than exhaustion that led to inexcusable laziness. I've been sleeping in and not giving a damn about what a wear, just trying to get through the year. The bad/good news? I'm done with school in less than two weeks and I don't have a full week for the rest of the year.
I took a sick day today to sleep in, ride my bike, take an online course that I've need to take, and cleaned my house. This outfit compromises of a bunch of current favorite pieces and some old standbys. It makes no sense, but I'm alright with that.
I started playing with my lipstick while taking photos and thought it would be fun to take some shots. Some fatalities: Got a little lipstick on my dress and I still have the drawing emblazoned on my arm despite having washed it off.
So, I've have been overindulging in National Public Radio all weekend. I can't get enough of the programs on there. Yesterday, I listened to CarTalk, Market Place, and a Prairie Home Companion. Today, I devoured Splendid Table.
I got my roots done yesterday (for my hair) and I talked to my stylist about transitioning to a nonbleach color. The pain of bleaching and the subsequent breakage is really getting to me. Before I go to a darker color, though, I have a few surprises in store, which I am pumped about!

Snow Day, Snow Day

This is not at all fashion related, but I think fun nonetheless. My sister and I are both teachers and we had a snow day today because we got about 8 inches of snow last night. We took the opportunity to trudge through the snow to the dog park nearby where our puppies were able to play for a good two hours.
Then, we came home and showered them. Because my puppy has hair like humans and not fur, he get snowballs like the ones seen above that will not melt on their own.
After a nice hot, rejuvenating shower we made homemade nachos and cheese fries and watched movies. It was a pretty lovely day, in the end.

A Weekend of Kitsch

Today was one of those supremely perfect days. My sister and I went shopping before we head to San Antonio/Austin next weekend. My sister wanted to get some fun clothes so that we can enjoy the music scene of Austin and the Riverwalk scene of San Antonio.
Fortunately (or unfortunately), I found some things too despite my need to save for the trip itself (I'm on a mission for a really antique-looking turquoise ring bracelet). We went several places and then ended up in downtown Littleton where we ventured into The Chocolate Therapist's outpost (since she's remodeling), enjoyed a nice foray into a spice shop, and ended the day with a belini and chocolate chip scone with Devonshire cream and strawberry jam.

Just Thinking

So, I've been thinking about my absence on the blog and I've realized it can be attributed to a rather complex, but general feeling of blah.
I began running about two months ago on a pair of really old shoes. Needless to say, injury occured and I was struggling to walk on my left foot and ankle. I was forced to wear flats for about two weeks straight, icing my foot and ankle in the evening and avoiding exercise. I gained weight. Not a ton, but certainly enough to make me feel unattractive.
Furthermore, the last two times I've gone to get my hair done, my hair has dealt with some serious breakage up near the roots for the very first time. I have all these short hairs at the base of my neck, around my forehead, and on my part.
This has made me feel completely yucky.
I really battled with posting this on the blog, as I am all about the empowerment of women in general and plus sized women in particular.
However, I also think that it is important that we as a fashion blogging community are honest with ourselves-- our whole selves.
I don't know how long this will last (especially since I have been sick since Sunday), but I think that being open about my frustrations will air out some of my issues and allow me to move on and enjoy blogging again.
I will continue to post when I feel up for it and, by the way, I appreciate those of you who are continuing to check my blog.

So, today my sister and I went to Parker (a small, but quaint down just south of the Denver Metro area) for a chocolate and tea tasting at this tea shop. The owners are a husband-and-wife couple from Great Britain and they invited the Chocolate Therapist to do this fabulous event. It was so fun, and I literally felt drunk when we were finished (I'm pretty sure that it was the caffeine from the chocolate and tea). Then, we stopped by a fabulous yarn store in the area so my sister could browse and we finally made it home to the puppies.
Last night, I dreamt of netbooks because my classroom is getting a classroom set. I am so excited about the education possibilities of these babies and, since we had a training all day Friday, it was on my mind big time. I know what everyone is thinking: how is it that my district is struggling with budget cuts, but we have all this money for technology? The answer is really long-winded, but I'll just say that our district applied for a government technology grant and the money can only be used for technology.
It truly is an opportunity, though, so I try not to dwell on the painful irony that what American education really needs is more teachers.

Woo-hoo! Two outfit posts in one week! Finally.
So, the past three weeks have been tumultuous. First, we found out about some pretty earth rumbling budget cuts in our district, then I was told I would not be at my school next year because of said budget cuts and low enrollment (due to two schools opening/expanding near our borders); then, at the end of the week, my school became a Title I school and I heard that certain teachers might be back next year.
Just when I started thinking about the possibility of relocating to my beloved Bay Area for a job, I found out that my principal (in his true "I get what I want eventually" fashion) somehow managed to get me back next year.
That's probably too much information, but it's an explanation for why I've been so uninspired and absent.

I went to a baby shower today. I hate baby showers with an intensity that is beyond comprehension. It was pretty damn awful, but I paired these two necklaces which made me smile secretly.
One of the things I love about fashion is how much it is infused with the individual. I am naturally drawn to all things ironic, sacrilegious, and cynical. When I was contemplating my outfit today, I decided I wanted to wear something childish. The headband and child's rosary were the beginning of this outfit because they were so innocent. But being me, I couldn't stay completely innocent, so I threw on the beer pendant with a navy ribbon just to make this outfit contradictory and sassy in a way that is oh-so-Carly.
After the shower, I went home to take care of a lot of things that needed to be taken care of since I got home from California. A nice glass of wine eased the chore.

Christmas time seems to be a time of difficulty for my camera. Some of my older readers will remember that this time last year I dropped my camera and had to get a new one. So, the freezing temperatures made me want nothing but comfort. I was also irrationally afraid of falling on the ice, so I opted for a week of motorcycle boots and converse all stars.
Today, I was so desperate to dress up, I did it for no reason at all except that it was Sunday. However, when I put on my shoes, I struggled with walking! The muscles in my feet had gotten used to flats and I was stumbling like a drunk. It took about 10 minutes of picture taking for me to finally get my sea legs. Don't worry, though, I'm back in the saddle again.

I'm in a bit of a rut clothing-wise. I'll blame it on the alternation between bitter cold and excessive snow. Also, I needed a pretty easy outfit today. I started out the morning by stewarding for a beer competition (so I was drinking at about 8:30am--yikes!), then I snuck in a trip to Saver's and was pretty successful before going to my last puppy training class.
Then, I headed over to Nordstrom Rack to return those shoes I asked you all about. However, when I got there, the lady at the cash registered asked me if I wanted to keep them since they were now 35% off. I decided to keep them and just do a price adjust. They were that much more appealing at thirty dollars cheaper.

These shoes are completely impractical right now (what with the weather being only 9 degrees, currently), but I am on a shoe bender. Plus, how fortuitous that I would find yet another pair of 70' shoes, this time closer to what I wanted. These Michael Kors were at DSW. I never frequent DSW, as I am perpetually disappointed. However, I had an appointment to get my roots done and I was early. There happens to be a DSW across the street from my salon and so I ventured forth. These babies were originally over $200, but I got them for $28! They are so damn ugly no one else wanted them, but fortunately for me I love ugly things.

I have been pining for a pair of vintage 60's platform wedges (preferably in wood), but unfortunately, have yet to find one.
Well, during a break in my tutoring this evening, I stopped by Nordstrom Rack. I was super disappointed in their selection, but right before I was about to call it a day, I found these platforms.
I'm still contemplating whether or not to keep them, because, eventhough I love them, they feel a little bit 90's and not as 60's as I was hoping for.

Today is my 27th birthday. My birthdays just keep getting quieter and quieter, but that's simply a micro view of my life in general. I did get some gifts from my students (who made a huge fuss over the day) and my sister called and sang "Happy Birthday" in Spanish and then in American Sign Language. It was so very Megan and I. I was walking through the parking lot at work chuckling this afternoon as I waited for the silence on the voice mail to end.

So, this outfit is slightly schizophrenic with it's geek-chic and rocker feel.
Today I went on the second annual Birthday Brewery Tour in Boulder. It was kind of an accident, since this year we were planning on heading south for our beer tour (I want you all to know that Colorado has the most microbreweries/brew pubs per capita in the nation). However, Boulder just worked out best (yet again) as a venue. I love Boulder!
Now, I know that many people know about this town from movies, etc. but it is seriously one of my favorite places in Colorado. I have so many zany memories from Pearl Street and the University of Colorado campus, and the hippies just make me smile from ear to ear. Te quiero, Boulder.

I wanted my jewelry to drip off of me. I think I was successful. Today my sister and I: went to see New Moon, bought a club chair and full length mirror for my new living arrangements, got a pedicure, enjoyed a margarita and bought my dad's Christmas present.
My sister shot these photos for me on the back porch of the new house she purchased. I am moving in with her next weekend. The coolest part is that the previous owners left a custom-built armoir that is GINORMOUS. I am going to put a lot of my shoes in there in order to hide them away. For some reason, not having my shoes all over my floor and my closet busting out into my room is the most exciting thing ever!

The rhinestone necklace and bracelet are a fairly expensive purchase from Urban Outfitters. However, Kristin Reiter and Valerie Killeen of the fantastic BleachBlack designed these lovelies for Urban and I could not not support them.

What is Kiki de Montparnasse?

Fairmont Cemetary Shoot

This photoshoot has been a long time coming, but April and I just couldn't get it together until now, what with snow, vacation, and on and on.
I wish I'd done it sooner. We went to the Fairmont Cemetary in Denver and it is a truly exceptional place. The diversity and intricacies of such an historic place were riveting and provided ample inspiration.

Worst Conference Ever

I went to the world's worst Response to Intervention/Differentiated Instruction conference today. The most horrible part about it was that she was an elementary teacher and most of the people there were elementary teachers. They were chanting and doing cutesy activites. Myself and two other middle school teachers from my school (one math and one science) just sat there silently with eyebrows raised thinking "Yeah, my kids would punch me in the face if I tried that on them."
To ride the coattails of an ancient cliche, we were the goth kids at the pep rally.
Anyway, the conference was held at a hotel and I remembered my enchantment for hotels.
I've not spent a ton of time in hotels and those that I have were not extraordinarily glamorous. I love imagining why the occupants are staying there, I love the classical music playing quietly, the clean smell of the bathrooms, the crazy carpeting, and the free crap they give you.
That's all I like from today... Oh! And my favorite math teacher sitting next to me who kept making deprecating, sardonic comments all along the way.

Eight inches of snow means a playdate inside. After messing around with photos on my bed, I pulled on my suede moccassins and put White Christmas on.

Oh, this afternoon I took the puppies out to bound in the snow. They had one hell of a time, but Loki's hair has a tendency to get these giant snowballs on them. He gets cold and then we have to throw him in a hot bath to melt the snowballs.

So, these shoes are like a thong for the feet. Flossy, barely there, slightly uncomfortable, but so completely worth it.
So, in my demonstration classroom there is a woman who appreciates fashion almost as much as I do. Today, I walked in with my big honking earrings that I love so dear, but always feel a bit self concious about. Keri looked at me and said "Girl, those earrings are straight deco!"
I was so pleased.
Anyway, I'm spending the evening sipping on Proseco and listening to all my new CD's. Just a few of my loves:
Imogen Heap, Gregory Alan Isakov, Brandi Carlile, Zee Avi, and Noah and the Whale. Imogen Heap and Brandi Carlile have been a favorite for many moons, but the other two are new finds. Plus, I have several more. I go on these crazy music sprees every couple of months.

So, I mentioned previously that I was working on a project and here it is:
Writer's Blog is my new blog.
It has zero to do with fashion, so fashionistas beware.
My love of writing has been ignited by my recent experience at the demonstration classroom I am in.
This blog is my attempt to play with my writing and to exorcise some of my troubles. Right now, it is mostly nonfiction and there is a lot of fleshing out various parts of my life. My hope is that this writing exercise will lead to more refined art, such as poetry and fiction pieces.
If you enjoy reading, then, by all means, travel over to my new blog and explore. There's not much there and there won't be the frequent updates that this blog has, but it's another facet of my life.

I forgot to post this a couple of days ago. I purchased the most delightful ring the other day from Overstock. I saw while browsing for pearl rings and realized that it is very nearly the exact vision I have for my engagement ring (if I get married, that is). I love the art deco design surrounding the pearl. The only things that would make this perfect would be if the ring was in white gold or platinum (instead of sterling silver) and if the pearl was flanked two sapphires. Then, I'd be in heaven.

There is nothing so sweet as combining the most comfortable garments in your closet. I feel like I'm wearing pajamas. Actually, I had to brave the mall today to return a few online purchases (I loathe the mall), and I noticed that I walk differently when I'm in my comfiest clothes. I sauntered instead of walking with intention, as I normally do. I was also less high-strung (which is a completely relative term, because I am high-strung by Colorado standards, but utterly sedated by almost everyone else's standards). Anyway, the day became a kind of "flow through life" day.
I bleached my hair again yesterday and managed to lift the color more, but it's not quite where the stylist and I want it (still some yellows), so I will be back in three weeks for another all-over bleach. In the meantime, I am spoiling my hair with a ton of deep conditioner.

Please excuse the double chin. I was making a leaf angel and really wanted to include a picture eventhough they were all goofy.

So, as I've mentioned, I've been moving my sister in and we had a blizzard-type storm this week. Well, my sister still has some needs at her house, so I spent the day getting dusty and dirty moving things around. I am really pretty sick of being in my yoga pants and snow boots, so I dressed up for only an hour for my quest for the Holy Grail of ice cream: Larry & Luna's Coconut Bliss. It turned out to be harder than I expected to locate, but I found this really cool parking lot with some pretty sweet photo opportunities.

Yay! My hunt for the most amazing ice cream ever ended successfully.
Luna & Larry's Coconut Bliss comes in about seven different flavors like Naked Almond Fudge and Chocolate Peanut Butter, but I personally love the vanilla because you can really taste the coconut milk.

I spent the evening watching the Batman series on ABC family, going trick or treating with a three-year-old, and handing out treats to kids in my neighborhood while the dogs slept (I'm babysitting my sister's cocker spaniel).
I decided to hop on chictopia and peruse the "people" section for some style inspiration. This created quite the monster, as this is my fourth post today. I linked to about 6 blogs, but I also found this fabulous store.
It's called Funky Lobes, which is the weirdest name I think I've ever heard. Turns out, the name is perfect for the ecclectic and beautifully surprising items of clothing they carry.

Long Black Veil

So, ever since I started talking to April about doing a shoot in an old cemetary with a white gown and a black gown, I have become consumed with black gowns. I am not in the market immediately, as I have nowhere to wear such an amazing gown and they're fairly expensive. Still, it is something that I will be adopting into my wardrobe in the next couple of months.
I would like something mysterious and ancient-looking.
