Geographically impaired!

I've spent the evening skimming sites like chictopia and related blogs and I've got the moving fever. I'm a saggitarius which, I've been told, makes sense given my restless nature. I want Toronto, Seattle, Mexico City, Copenhagen, Perth, Chicago, London, something other than Denver. I'm antsy as hell and craving a new energy all together and a fashion energy in particular. I'm heading to San Fransisco in March and will definitely probe out that scene. Any bloggers near San Fransisco? I would love to meet up with anyone nearby!

A Folk's Tale?

While perusing urbanoutfitters.com, I noticed an alarming trend... and I'm all over it. This folksy theme is totally jiving with my increasingly elevated shoe collection in a beautifully juxtaposing way. Do I sense future investments? Possibly!

All Star

I've never owned Converse All Stars until just recently. I'm hooked. I already have three pairs, this pair being one of those.

School Marm

These are actually yesterday's outfit. I was really tired so I didn't feel tremendously motivated to take pictures. That would explain why they are so crappy. Sorry.

Binge without Purging

I've been awfully naughty lately with my shoe purchases and, my god, I'm loving it.

Clockwise from top left: Camilla Skovgaard, Marni, Camilla Skovgaard,Chloe, Miu Miu, Miu Miu, Chloe

Camilla Skovgaard is rapidly becoming one of my favorite designers. First of all, she's Danish. My family heritage is Dane, I lived there and now speak the language so I'm a sucker for anything Danish. More importantly, however, is her shoes. She makes delightfully structured shoes like the stilletos in this photo that look like cages for the feet.
Also, the first pair of Miu Miu's are constructed from sequins with varying gradients and distances from pink to silver (though you can't see it in the photo).

Pop!

Alright. I just love black and white with a tiny spritz of color. It makes the outfit pop in a crazy way.
Speaking of pop, today was an amazing day. I'm falling in love with my students and my master teacher reaffirmed for me in my first evaluation exactly why I made the career change I did. Teaching is incredible, but I lost sight of that with tearing through the red tape that amassed in the teacher education program. Now that I'm actually out there and interacting on a very real basis with students, I've regained the clarity I had when I returned to school. It feels stupendous and I am celebrating with the most scintillating Argentinian Cabernet Savignon.
Also, I'm not sure if you've noticed, but I've been all about the indoor photos. The thing is, playing with the space in my house has always been so appealing to me and I'm taking the cold weather as an opportunity to explore my lovely home.

Fireplace

Steve Earle-Sparkle and Shine
I have got to remember to take my damn badge off before taking outfit photos. It looks so tacky. Today, my stage was the fireplace. I love our fireplace with all the family photos, the old mantle clock, and the figurines. My great grandfather hand-carved the wood figurine that I'm holding in the first picture and I love them so much.

Dear Winter

Please go away so that I can wear these little darlings until eternity becomes yesterday.

Your friend,
Carlene

Taming of the Shrew

Lyle Lovett-If I Had a Boat
I had an intense flair for drama in my photos today that can only be blamed on the fact that I am teaching “Taming of the Shrew” right now.

Ice Cold

Bob Dylan-Subterranean Homesick Blues
It's morbidly cold outside this weekend, which is such a slap in the face since last weekend was in the 70s. I am combatting the frigid temperatures by enjoying an Ommegang Ale and making brownies.
I am so obsessed with my glasses right now. I just can't get enough!

Strung Out

Mavericks-All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down
... and not in the good, fun kind of way. I'm really tired and it made me feel slightly sick this morning and kind of drunk this afternoon. I went to some friends house for lunch to regale them with my first week, and when I came home and parked my car on the street, it was half way out in the road. When I realized it, I felt like a regular ass and I could only blame it on my delirious state.
No matter because this outfit is really fun and makes up for my exhaustion. I think that it is definitely inspired by Quincy over at Q's Day Dream.
The shoes are a yoox buy that I simply could not resist.
Also, I had to play with my new fan that I acquired from an impulse buy at an estate sale today.
